The Haven at Columbus in Columbus, GA, is excited to introduce you to our dynamic leadership team – Larry Vanhorn, Julia Taylor, and Mia Lockett:
Meet Larry Vanhorn!
Larry Vanhorn, Executive Director, joins The Haven at Columbus, bringing with him 25+ years of excellence in leadership, including 10 years as an Assisted Living Administrator/Executive Director. Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Larry attended Sheldon State Community College and The University of Alabama. Larry is licensed in California and Alabama and also holds a Certified Dementia Practitioner® certification. Larry loves all sports and has a passion for cooking!
Larry has a passion for serving seniors and is committed to ensuring that residents still feel a true sense of purpose in their senior years.
Meet Julia Taylor!
Julia Taylor, Senior Living Advisor, has lived in the Columbus area most of her life and has worked in several areas of senior adult care including as an Occupational Therapy Aid, Activity Director, Volunteer Coordinator, and Marketing Director in various senior living communities since the 1980s.
Julia began working with seniors at just twelve years old as a volunteer in a skilled nursing facility.
“I have always had a passion for senior adults. Those early years of volunteering led me to a career in the senior adult world.”
Julia and her husband David have three grown children and three grandchildren who are the joys of their lives. In her free time, Julia enjoys reading, baking, doing art projects, playing the piano, and going to the beach.
Meet Mia Lockett!
Mia Lockett, Business Office Manager, joins The Haven at Columbus bringing more than two decades of experience, emphasizing her dedication to service and leadership. Mia is a seasoned professional who has a history of delivering exceptional customer service across a range of industries. From her early days at CellularOne to her impactful work in the employment staffing sector, Mia has built a reputation of excellence, integrity, and heartfelt service. Mia holds a Master of Healthcare Administration degree, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Mia has been happily married to her husband Tim for 33 years. Together, they are the proud parents of two daughters, Mya and Tya, and doting grandparents to their beloved grandson, Chandler. Outside of her professional pursuits, Mia treasures time with her family, enjoys reading, and actively volunteers with local organizations such as the Valley Rescue Mission.
Mia is honored to join The Haven at Columbus and looks forward to serving our residents and their families with care and compassion.
